My love of vintage developed a couple of years ago. Since then I have bought a few pieces but due to a tight budget I haven't been able to build a decent wardrobe up...yet! I would like to have an amazing collection that I could pass on.
I seem to have gravitated towards American Vintage and have been religiously checking American Ebay for items. There have been some amazing pieces and after spotting something that I must have (we all know that feeling when you must have something!) I ended up setting my alarm for 4am to bid on a dress, this unfortunately was before I found out about sniping. Still it was worth it as I won! Funny how it's always "I won" rather than "I bought" on Ebay. You don't end up feeling as guilty because you have won it...well I don't anyway ;)
The dress is amazing I have to say. 60's, maxi, olive shift top with a crochet skirt and olive underlay. Then it has a hot pink velvet tie belt. I love to think of a story behind the pieces. This dress I would say was a custom made bridesmaid or prom dress. How much fun would an American prom be in the 60's! Unfortunately I just have not had the chance to wear it yet. Mixed reasons, scared it will get ruined by my toddler putting his mucky hands on it and not really having anywhere to wear it. Hopefully I will get an invite to something fabulous to showcase it (hint hint) !
Has anyone gone to great lengths to buy something? I would love to hear about or see pictures of your favourite vintage pieces..
On another note I would just like to congratulate Mandy for winning my first ever give away! Hope you love the choker Mandy!
Ciao for now :)
