Aztec Baby

I am trying out a few spaces in my flat where I can take decent outfit posts plus now that I can take pictures for my ASOS Store indoors I need to find a spot with good lighting.  This is clearly not the place but I love this top and wanted to show it off, and sorry the photos are a little fuzzy.

I bought it from another ASOS Boutique here, their customer service is not their strong point and it was a long and annoying wait to get this top but so glad I did as it's gorgeous! I should have taken a picture of the back as it has 3 cute bows towards the top. I will most definitely be rocking this in summer with my denim shorts or skirt. The skirt (£3) and tights (£3.50) are from Primark. I have the skirt in a burnt orange colour too, such a bargain! Also what better way to accessorise this outfit indoors than a nice warm comfy pair of slippers! Please excuse the holes...

Glossy Box: January/Valentines Edition

The much awaited and hyped up Glossy Valentine's Box..

Eyeko - Skinny Eyeliner (full size) £9.50

Use this eyeliner for precise definition and intense colour with long lasting finish.
LOVE this eyeliner, I don't care and am in fact pleased to have received another Eyeko product to try. I received the dark navy blue, it's very pigmented and applied smoothly when swatched on my hand. Really want some more colours now! You can't see in the picture (sorry) but the pencil features a long pointed handle which is to aid precision when the pencil reaches the end.

Clarins - Extra Firming Night Cream (15ml) £48 for 50ml

I am really surprised to see Clarins! I have a few products and generally think they are a great brand so bring on the firming as gwad knows I need it...

Clarins - Extra Firming Day Cream (15ml) £46.50 for 50ml

This is the day version and read above for the comments.
 Fab - Body Moisturiser (56.7g) £13 for 237g

According to the card I was meant to receive the body wash. Never mind this will do. I have never tried this brand before and I have heard a few good things. There is no smell and the product has a slight velvety touch to it. Like!

Murad - Skin Perfecting Primer (5ml) £29 for 30ml

Create a smooth resilient canvas while minimizing the appearance of pores.
I am super pleased to see a primer finally!
Can't wait to try this out as I love the Murad cleanser that I received in August's Glossy Box.

Love the products this month and especially adore the hot pink box! I would prefer this colour each month as pastel pink is really not my thing. I also...ahem...have two more boxes to come as with Glossy Box they send out a variety of boxes with different products and I can't really miss out can I? That's if I don't receive 3 of the same..

ARK: Age Aware Skincare Review

Latest in Beauty were offering a sample set from ARK's age maintain range which is aimed at those aged from the mid 30's to 50's and seeing as I am close (too close imo) to mid 30's I thought I would give it a go plus a bargain at only £2.50 delivered!

I love the packing it came in, super sleek and the little pots will be great to re-use for travel. There were 4 samples with 2ml of each product, cleanser, exfoliator, masque and moisturiser.

This cleanser washes off oily grime and make-up with natural cleansing agent. Moringa oil while plumping up the skin and softening fine lines.
There is a light lemon smell to the product, it actually reminds me of the smell you sometimes get with citrus infused cleaning products. Not unpleasant just unfortunate it reminds me of my kitchen cleaner!  The product is a liquid gel consistency and is meant to lather,  but I did not see this. It was refreshing and my skin felt lovely and clean after use.

Exfoliator
A concentrated exfoliator mask with Multifruit acids safely removes dead cells from the skins surface. promoting a smoother, younger looking appearance.
I couldn't detect a smell and the product is a creamy thick consistency. The idea is to apply the exfoliator as a mask and leave for 5-10 minutes. It tightens on the skin which was slightly unpleasant. I am confused as to why this is called an exfoliator quite frankly, There are not beads to 'exfoliate' and it is basically like applying a mask.

This masque contains an anti-irritation formula of calming Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal extracts, vitamins and antioxidants.
The product is of dough like texture with a light smell. It wasn't easy to spread over the face due to the consistency mind you. After applying it felt like the product literary disappeared into the skin (not a bad thing of course). This is a very gentle masque which left no redness but smooth and soft skin after rinsing.

Moisturiser
Anti-wrinkle moisturiser with Co-enzyme Q10 and antioxidant rich blue lotus extract, which smoothes out fine lines and revitalises the look of ageing and stressed skim.
This product smells faintly of grass to me, others may disagree of course! This is of medium consistency but feels light and very moisturising on the skin. I really like this product and wish I had a bit more so I could test it out for longer.

Overall I enjoyed trying out these products. I don't think the exfoliator was up to standards but would definitely consider buying the moisturiser and cleanser full size. The masque  I am still in two minds about.

Anyone else tried ARK?

Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Gel Mask Review

I was kindly given this sample of Elemis Mask from an Ebay seller after buying a Daniel Sandler palette, I also received a couple of other Elemis products which I will review separately.

The mask combines patented Tri-Enzyme technology with Amazonian Acerola Cherry and White truffle Poria Cocos to encourage effective retexturising of the skins surface and balance sebum levels. The skin feels instantly smoother, shine free and more radiant.

The mask applies clear and once set has a slightly tight feeling to the face. Word of warning, do not accidently get this product in your mouth...bleurgh!
I misread the 'powerful' tingling sensation as 'slight' Hmmm not sure how I did that! They don't lie I must say, they don't lie at all. It was powerful alright stinging pretty bad, so bad that I nearly took it off. The sensation did calm down after a minute and I was left with my face feeling on fire but in a different way, like the after burn from eating a really strong mint. Yes that may sound odd but that is what it felt like and it stayed that way till I took it off and for a bit after.

I used the mask again a week later and had a different reaction. The tingling sensation was hardly there at all, just a very cooling feeling which stayed for a while even after rinsing the mask off. My skin did feel a touch smoother and radiant.

It's a nice mask and my skin was thankful but it was nothing amazing in my opinion. I wouldn't pay the full £46 asking price, I'm pretty sure you could find something similar for cheaper.

You can buy it from here for £46.

Has anyone else tried this mask?

Carmine: January's Edition

Second box of the year and what do we have inside....

Eldora - Falsh lashes (full size) £4.90

I am really getting into false lashes recently. These look great but not sure that I am too keen on the diamanté detailing on them. Looks like there are a 2nd pair so may have to try and swap them.

Balance Me - Radiance Face Oil (5ml) £30 for 30ml

The oil claims to help renew your skin and literally make your skin glow.
I can detect a faint citrus smell. The bottle has a roller ball to apply with. I tested a bit on my face but wasn't too sure how much transferred to my face. I will try again later as I have only just put moisturiser on.
Eyeko - Fat Eye Stick (full size) £10

I am quite excited to try this product and I have never used Eyeko products before. The product is lovely and creamy and glides on my hand when swatched. I received this in black and it looks like there are 3 colours so I might have to try and swap for the others.

I received this product in November's Boudoir Prive. It is a lovely moisturiser and I'll be happy to use it again but personally I don't think I would purchase the full size version.

Westlab - Himalayan Pink Salt (100g) £2.85 for 500g

The Himalayan salts claim to detoxify and maintain soft healthy skin. A 30 minute soak is meant to be equivalent to a 3 day detox! Ok sounds too good to be true but I might give a shot.

Overall a good bunch of goodies! Although the more I look at those eyelashes the more I am not liking them..

What do you think?

Blink + Go Mascara

This wasn't an item that I  received in my December's edition of Glossy Box which I was a bit gutted about and so seeing a few rave reviews on it I was dying to try it out! Luckily I managed to swap it on Beauty Box Swaps.

I  love the simple black packaging, the mascara tube is on the slightly heavier side though. It is also waterproof which I do prefer as I have a habit of rubbing my eyes.

The effect of the mascara after one application is fantastic!

Left with the mascara, right without

Unfortunately you can't build with this mascara and it transfers to the eyelid fairly easily. I found I needed to use a ear bud to get rid of excess which I haven't needed to do to with many mascaras before. I did try this a few times too just to make sure it wasn't a one off.

Conclusions are that this mascara does do a brilliant job at lengthening the lashes and gives a great almost false lash effect but my major gripe is the transference, quite annoying really! Plus I like to build my mascara. Due to receiving the i-flutter from New Cid Cosmetics recently (see my review here) I may not be going for this one as much I had hoped..

Does anyone else have this mascara? What are your thoughts? xx

Blink + Go Eyeshadow Palette

I was a bit cheeky in December and ordered more than one Glossy Box. I was very lucky and happy to have received both the Blink+Go Pallets!

Both palettes are frosted colours, the first is 'brights' and the second are 'greys'. Both palettes have 2 different pinky/peachy blushers.
I wouldn't normally go for frosted palettes but these are surprising lovely and super pigmented, the brighter colours do need a bit more of a build up but generally I am impressed. I have used this palette a few times and have noticed a small  amount of fall out, it can be avoided if you tap the brush before applying though so not too much of an annoyance. The light pink blush on the colours palette doesn't come up to pigmented when swatched but does give you a lovely flush of colour on the cheeks and is my favourite blush out of the four.

Anyone else own this and rate it? xx
