Sensai Blusher by Kanebo

Kanebo is Japanese brand I am not familiar with. They have a range of skincare, cosmetics and hair care which all looks intriguing!

I have the blush* in number CH05. The blush is layered with three gradient shades of peach which I wouldn't have know had I not read the description first. In all honestly there isn't too much of a difference in colours when swatched separately which is why I haven't put up a photo. The brush that comes with it is super soft and would be great if you travel and want to save space. The powder is beautifully soft, smooth and finely milled. You'll find a slight sparkle running through it which is more noticeable when the light hits the pan. Although highly pigmented you don't end up looking like a clown as it's such a light colour but you can also build it up for a much deeper flush which you can see in the swatch.

This lasted a good 6/7 hours before I noticed any fading and I have to say this is the most beautiful blusher I have ever owned! So so pretty and I just love the luxurious packaging. This is definitely a treat worth buying.

You can see more of the range here

Have you tried Kanebo?

Butter Chicken & Indian Spice Kits

If you read my blog you may notice I'm a bit of a foodie, I love nothing better than being in the kitchen rustling up a master piece (ahem) but when it comes to cooking Indian I hit a wall. I have followed many recipes to end up with a nice dish but nothing outstanding or something that could be passed off as a Indian curry!

My husband came home with this little packet of spice the other week. I have never tried Butter Chicken before, mainly because the name just never appealed to me. I read the ingredients and realised it probably wouldn't be anything like Korma (shudder).

The Best Curry In Surrey who sell these little bags of joy also provide you with a list of extra ingredients you'll need to buy and step by step instructions of how to make the curry and each kit is for 4 people. It did come with a separate pocket of chili powder to use if you'd like it extra spicy. I misplaced it but wouldn't have used it unfortunately as I was cooking for a toddler and a spice wimp husband ;)

Spicy goodness and instructions

All chopped and in the pan with the spice

All lovely and cooked

It was very easy to make and I have to say absolutely fricking delicious!! Something I would expect from a takeaway. I had to stop myself eating it cold the next day so we'd have enough for another dinner. Yes I eat cold curry the next day, embrace it people as it's bloody good!

You can buy the spice kits here for a very reasonable £1.95 + postage and contain no added salt, additives or preservatives. They also cater for weddings, parties etc.

Fly Away

Dress: In Love with Fashion  |  Sunnies: Coco  |  Shoes: ASOS  |  Ring: House of Harlow

Chictopia  /  Lookbook  /  WIWT  /  ASOS FF

I've been a bit quiet this week. I have many half written posts in draft but due to being in a sleep deprived haze I couldn't quite get the words out! My toddler has not slept well for 1-2 months and I finally hit the wall last week agh! Anyway I feel a bit more human today...just ha!

I think I saw Lauren from *whispers* TOWIE wearing this is the last episode which reminded me I had it in the back of the cupboard...with the label still on! So I dug it out. Love the cut and a great transition dress from Summer to Autumn.

What's everyone up to at the weekend?

Shavata Tweezers for QVC

Shavata, a brow and lash expert who has been in the industry for 20 years has created a collection of summer inspired Tweezers that will keep your brows 'beach ready' in-between appointments and is exclusively for QVC. The tweezers are designed in a variety of beach-inspired colours and painted motifs.

I have the kiwi cocktail design*, I love it, so quirky and unusual and adds a bit of fun and colour to my makeup brush holder where I store it. I do like the look of the sunglasses design too, if you have seen my sunglasses post you know I have a bit of addiction to them!

They are designed wider for a better grip and are made so you can remove bulk hair quite accurately. I don't pluck my brows too often as I am trying to grow them a bit thicker (not working, help!) and I wouldn't really need to do this but I find they are great at grabbing the hair and plucking easily with minimal pain. I compared them to my last pair that I've had for an age and how on earth I have even managed to pluck any hairs with that is beyond me haha!

If you are looking for something to brighten up your makeup bag then this is your man. You can view the collection on QVC and are priced £9.95 onwards. Read more on Shavata and find her brow studio location's here

Zoya Breezi

I freakin love this colour! My favourite blue polish I have ever tried. On this hand is two coats but only due to a few patches, on my right (not in picture) is one coat and still looks fab!

The brush is small, I've said it before but I prefer smaller brushes as I find it easier to apply. It dried really quickly and so far I have had it on for 4 days and no chipping.

I definitely will be stocking up on more colours on this one coat wonder! I've seen some colours from the new range that I need!

Any Zoya fans out there?

YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Shocking Mascara Review

This little beauty steamed through my letter box on Monday. I may have squealed with delight! I had no idea it was coming and was most welcome to take away the Monday blues.

This seems to be quite a cult product in the beauty world and of course I have been dying to try it for ages, but being around the £22 mark I couldn't quite justify it! The first thing you notice is the scent, a light floral smell that is much more pleasant than any other mascara's I've used - not that I go round sniffing them mind you! The wand is slim and  the brush manages to grab all the lashes and coat them evenly, it did flatten the curl a touch but nothing too major. I couldn't get a good enough picture to capture the pure amazeness but It gave such a great effect, almost dolly like but in a good way! A couple of coats  with no clumping, I seriously like this mascara!

This was sent from What's in my Handbag, a site that has one product to sample each week. You need to register for that product in the hope that you get picked. This is my first product from them and super happy! You can sign up too, this is my referral link and you get some goodies if you refer 25 people. So get referring!

Have you tried this mascara?

MeMeMe Goddess Rocks Bronzer Review

This is the last product from my MeMeMe splurge! You can see the Blush here and the Foundation here if you haven't already. I actually have had this in my draft posts for ages as I thought I had already published it and just found it Doh!

I love the print on the packaging but the tub it comes in is cardboard, and not the sturdy kind so I can see this becoming bashed and dented quite easily. Not impressed with that really. Luckily the product is up to scratch! The colours are beautiful and the pigmentation amazing. There are two different colours, a bronze/rose gold and a gold. The texture of the 'rocks' are soft and creamy, you only need a light hand as otherwise you will end up looking more like a bronzed statue rather than a bronzed goddess! Unless you are after that look of course ;)

I use my Real Techniques blush brush and use a light sweep across my face and neck. It really does give you a lovely healthy glow. I am super impressed and have used this often since buying it. You get a huge amount of product and it will last you an age! It's on sale on their website for £10 instead of £12.50 here.

Have you tried this?

Fried Mozzarella Stick Recipe

I used to work in a Tex Mex restaurant which made the best, yes BEST fried mozzarella sticks. Sadly they are not around any more and I so miss the food but these are a good substitute and easy to make.

Ingredients
1 x Egg
Splash of milk
Bread crumbs
Panko breadcrumbs
Dried Parsley
Plain Flour
Ground Cayenne Pepper- pinch
A block of hard mozzarella
Sorry I have no exact weights or measurements. I pretty much chuck a load onto a plate and if I need more just add it :)

- Whisk egg and milk in a shallow bowl
- Mix the breadcrumbs, panko and parsley on a plate - If you don't have panko just use regular               breadcrumbs
- On a plate or shallow bowl mix flour, seasoning and a pinch of Cayenne
- Cut the mozzarella into centimetre slices and then halve

1. Roll the mozzarella in the flour
2. Then dip it in the egg, make sure it is covered
3. Place it on the breadcrumbs
4. Pile the breadcrumbs on and around it. Works better this way rather than rolling the mozzarella in the crumbs

Once each one is covered, place on a board or plate and put in the freezer for approx half an hour. They need to be harder so that they don't melt as much when frying.
These can also be frozen for future use

Heat some oil in a pan. It needs to be quite hot as the outside needs to cook before the middle becomes too soft and the mozzarella seeps out. They only need to be fried for a few minutes.
I also have tried the healthier route of baking them. They don't taste as good (surprisingly), the breadcrumbs are not as cooked but the mozzarella does go a lot gooier and is delish in that sense. If you fancy doing that then bake for 15 minutes on gas mark 6 from frozen . Adjust the times if cooking from chilled.

Mmmm gooey goodness! Serve with dip of choice, I like BBQ Sauce but the traditional acompliment is Marinara sauce
