Oh Hello Pretty Palette! As soon as I knew this all matte palette 'in the know' was being released by Stila I have been keeping an beady eye out for it. Finally I saw it December and it was mine bwahahaha!
You get 10 matte shades including a highlight shade, peach/pinks, taupe/brown, burnt orange, grey and black so a good mix! I instantly think of the band Earth, Wind and Fire when looking at the shade names though!
Onto the swatches....
First off it's the middle of the road when it comes to pigmentation - that is a good thing though as it means you don't end up applying too much and can build up to what you are after. The colours are soft, blendable and easy to work with. I haven't tried using them wet yet though as I have never used any shadows wet and not quite sure where to start! You can achieve so many different looks from neutral to smokey and comes with a little book of looks to create. The packaging is sturdy and easily portable if you travel. The mirror is a decent size too which I tend to use rather than my regular mirror. I am already a fan of the Stila smudge sticks so this little addition in the palette was most welcome. It's a beautiful charcoal grey but I personally would have preferred a chocolate brown or black as that would have suited all the shades more.
Matte shades I do believe suit me better so these have been pretty much the only eyeshadow's I have used since buying the palette and the main reason I was so adamant to purchase this was for the beautiful burnt orange shade, it's going to be well used ;) Maybe not the best picture but I was wearing a few of the shades in this post.
£25 spent well in my eyes (excuse the pun) and I think I need a few more Stila Palette's in my life (I'm looking at you in the Garden) AFTER the spending ban of course. You can find the palette here and I bought it as a Limited Edition so not sure how long it will be able to purchase for.
Do you own any Stila? What's your thoughts?

I have been reading so many good things about Stila palettes at the moment! Think I may have to invest :-p I really think this is more versatile than the Naked version!

wow this is a serious contender isn't it! Offers more choice than the urban decay basics imo, great review xxx
ReplyDeleteYes more choice! Pleased I opted for this rather than UD! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes definitely do Emma! I NEED some more ;) x
ReplyDeleteI like when you can build up colour & not apply too much at once. This palette looks really versatile and great value. I am going to see if my local Boots has some in stock.
